Big Shot Class

We were busy bees this Sunday at the big shot class. We made plant sticks and wine charms out of recycled soda cans. What green crafters we are! I love the idea of turning something that would otherwise be trashed into something fabulous! We even used recycled hangers as the sticks. The cans were run through the big shot with dies and embossing folders just like you would with card stock. I punched the holes with my crop-o-dile and added beads on earrings I purchased at my local craft store. 

The fabulous little wine charms are embossed with Stampin Ups Delicate Designs Textured Impression Embossing Folder and punched with a 1" circle punch.They sure fancy up a boring old wine glass don't they?

Our last project was this little beauty! It's a 5x7 frame, and the stamp set used is "From my Heart". The image is stamped in Primrose Petals, and cutout with The Labels Collection Framelits (one of my new faves btw!) The ribbon is summer starfruit, and that cute little doily strip is done with the delicate designs textured embossing folders.

This is another version done in midnight muse and stamped with the You're Amazing set. Not bad for a Sunday afternoon :)

Valentines Day Big Shot Class

 I absolutely LOVE my Big Shot machine. It is absolutely my favorite crafty tool...and that's saying a lot because I have a long list of them :) I have dedicated a class solely to tips, tricks and accessories for the big shot. Here are a few of the projects we made for our February Valentines day class.I don't know how I ever got by without embossing, letterpress and framelets!

This card is made with the greeting card kids stamp set. I have waited all year to use that adorable image!

The Big Shot cuts more than just paper and cardstock! This little goodie jar has a label made out of chalkboard vinyl...and yep the big shot cuts through that too!

and here is the sweetest little treat holder made with the 2tags die. It is the perfect size to add a mini bag of m&ms...YUM!

Easy Events

This is one of my favorite stamp sets! It is such a great set to have on hand. It has a stamp with a sentiment for all the important occasions. I love making these little 3x3 cards. They go so quick its such crafty instant gratification!
Here are a couple of cards made at a class to teach new crafters how to water color with stampin up inks. Its SO easy breezy with the aqua painters! These 2 were made by 2 of my friends and craft class participants, they LOVED it! Neither of them had ever stamped before...didn't they do a GREAT job!

Look at how easy that is!

Helpful hints in your Stampin' Up! catalog

I love Stampin' Up! and how they continue to help make us all better paper crafters.  You might not be aware of this, but in the big catalog that came on on July 1st, there is some helpful information when using the die cutting machine, the Big Shot.  I like all the helpful hints SU included in this catalog.  If you have a Big Shot and use the dies and embossing folders, you might like the "sandwich" information (the way you layer the platform) that is included on the pages where the folders and dies are sold, 214-225.

The photo below is of page 219.  You can see in the box next to the embossing folders shows an example of the layers you would use when embossing your cardstock.  Below that is another box that shows you the layers when using the Texturz plates.

The photo below is a little closer shot and an example of how different the layers would be if you were cutting out cardstock (or another material) using the dies. 

I love that this is so handy and since you probably always know where your catalog is, you will always know where to find this helpful information.  With the different products you put through the Big Shot, it's hard to remember what plates to use with what.  Some boxes use a crease pad so they are easier to fold and put together.  Some projects use the clear plates, etc.  It can be tricky to remember it all.

So, not only is your catalog full of wonderful have-to-have items, it's a great resource for your stamping hobby!

Goodbye National Scrapbook Month Hellooooo New Catalog!

May has come and gone...and I must admit I didn't scrapbook a darn thing! So much for national scrapbook month. I guess I have been just too busy stampin!
June brings one of my favorite times of year! Not the gloom...
THE NEW STAMPIN' UP CATALOG!!
I have seen a few sneak peeks and I can't wait to see the whole thing! There are 5 new colors and they just scream summer, and the new fabrics are SO cute!
To make room for all the great new stuff...some things are sent to retirement and after June 30th the retired stamp sets will no longer be available. As for the accessories: ribbon, punches, embelishments etc are only available while supplies last so...Click the buttons on the right to see the retirement lists. Stampin'UP! will be updating the website daily.

I can't stop making cupcakes in every color! (at least these ones are calorie free :) white bakers twine and a cherry on top!

Below: This Next treat holder is from the #2Bigshot die, There are 2 boxes taped back to back, and a 1 1/4"circle punched through the top. This one is also made with Poppy Parade card stock, Flower die in whisper white, and tempting turquoise. Ribbon in so saffron and tempting turquoise.
